An opinion piece must present a genuine, well-reasoned position that is held by the named author. It must actively engage with evidence and structured argument to support a distinct viewpoint. We do not publish company manifestos, product announcements, or promotional statements that are disguised behind a byline.
The Main Argument
Every opinion piece must revolve around a timely, specific, and contentious argument. The primary thesis must be clearly and concisely stated within the introductory paragraphs.
The submission must remain strictly non-promotional. A practical test for authors to consider is whether the core argument would remain entirely valid and logically sound if all references to their own company or project were removed from the text.
Copy Specifications
Headlines must be drafted as strong, declarative statements rather than open questions. Authors are expected to maintain high factual rigor throughout their writing. All external sources referenced must be credible, reliable, and explicitly named. Every factual claim, statistical figure, and specific reference requires an embedded hyperlink. Submissions may not be longer than 900 words. First-person narrative must be avoided entirely. Throughout the article, the distinction between objective fact and subjective opinion must remain clear to the reader.

Submissions must be original work and completely exclusive to Kernel News. All articles must be human-written Any submission generated by AI is automatically declined. Each submission must be accompanied by a short biography highlighting the author’s relevant credentials. All submissions and subsequent editorial correspondence are managed exclusively through email. The Opinion Desk does not engage in any other type of correspondence regarding opinion columns under any circumstances, including outreach directed at Kernel co-founders.
Volume and Exclusivity
